What Lies Beneath

Behind the pretty smile
The hurt was kept inside
Behind the sparkled eyes
Held up tears ready to cry

There’s a hole in the heart
Perhaps a tick can rip it apart
So hard to hold what’s all within
The one who fits refused to get in

Covered with bright blue sunny sky
Clustered rain begging for its hour
Like how some sweet could turn just sour
And spoil the moments when hope runs dry

After all the day of laughter
A night’s shrill insisted thereafter
No one’s around to see it through
The ghost that lies beneath is true

All’s hidden from appealing face
The silent woes will never be traced
Denying desires to mourn than cheer
Just chose to please the enjoying peers

Behind the beautiful smile
The oozing pain all kept inside
Behind those glorious eyes
Overflowing tears can no longer hide
